Workshops and Symposia

PaleoCore sponsored workshops and symposia are designed to bring together members of the academic community in order to advance the development of data standards, data integration and data exchange between paleoanthropological research projects. Addiitonal information about past and forthcoming workshops are available following the links to the left. Earlier workshops and symposia were designed to target the archaeological or paleontological communities respectively while later meetings target the broader paleoanthropological community and related disciplines.

The next planned PaleoCore workshop will be held in conjunction with the 2014 TDWG meetings in Nairobi in October of 2014. This workshop will focus on sharing open-source data management technology among African researchers and museum personnel. PaleoCore has developed an open-source specimen management framework and spatial data management system specifically targeted towards museums in developing countries with paleontological and paleoanthropological collections.
